My dear sweet Adam,

Every year, I sit down to write this letter to my you and attempt to impart some wisdom to others. This year, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and do not know where to start. Year 4 has been a challenging one, to say the least. We picked up our lives and moved 800 miles with no jobs to begin our next adventure. There were definitely hard days and we have since had many joyful ones. We have learned so much about ourselves, each other and our relationship. Our faith has been tested and strengthened and we are more sure than ever what we want for and in this life we are blessed with.

I am so proud to call you mine and wake up to your smiling face every single day. You never cease to amaze me in the ways you shower me with love and challenge me to be better. If this year has taught me anything, it is that we are stronger than we could have ever thought and that you are my rock. Having you as my partner in life is the biggest blessing I could have ever asked for. I am beyond grateful for how the Lord has brought us closer this year than ever before. Regardless of what life has thrown our way, we have persevered together and come out brighter on the other side. We have had the opportunity to grow this year separately and together, to experience so many fun things in Texas and weathered the summer (an accomplishment for anyone!).

As I sit here writing this, we are preparing to go home and celebrate your sister’s wedding with our family and I could not be happier. I cannot wait to see your face light up, the excitement as we board the plane and seeing you hug your mom for the first time in a year. Just imagining that makes my heart overflow. You are my everything, your joy is my joy and you make me better everyday. I pray that I am the same for you and strive to be the best version of myself for you every moment of everyday, even if only by grace.

I know that we have so many wonderful things ahead of us this year that we know about and others that will be surprises. Every year, I marvel at the fact we are still in the beginning chapters of our life together. I feel like I have known you my whole life and yet we have so much more life to live and experience. How gosh darn cool is that?!
